Senor Benitez v Sir Alex Ferguson – The Duel

10 Jan

The Duel of Senor Benitez and Sir Alex Ferguson, January 1809

The rules are as follows, gentlemen:

Meet tomorrow at sunrise on the field of play.

Bring your seconds, Viscount Wayne Looney for Sir Alex, Lord Steven Gerrard for Senor Benitez.

Senor Benitez will be dressed in a Matador’s uniform, with sword in hand, and holding the red cape of a Liverpool jersey.

Sir Alex will have a Glasgow-forged steel plate riveted to his forehead.

Sir Alex will charge Senor Benitez and try to kiss him, Glasgow style.

Senor Benitez will have one chance to dodge Sir Alex’s headbutt by swinging his cape to confuse the charging bull.

Senor Benitez will then be given one chance to lance his sword through the neck of the charging Sir Alex.

May the best man win.

Gentlemen, the field is yours.
